Sunday School Walk for Missions – June 2nd

Sunday School

It is that time of year again. Spring has sprung and walking outdoors is wonderful at this time of year. The Sunday school classes will again be participating in their Walk for Missions in order to raise money for their children’s missions. The students will be asking for donations between services beginning May 5th until the day of the walk on June 2nd. The rain date will be June 9th.

Some of our previous outreach missions have been the UMC Food Pantry, Brick Police K-9 Unit, Locks of Love, Christian Camp Scholarships, Lakewood Outreach Ministry for the Homeless, Ocean Harbor House, UMC youth on mission trips to Kentucky and Pennsylvania, Brick Animal Shelter, Cypress Missions, Emanuel Cancer Foundation, Haiti Children’s Program, Recognition of Veterans Organizations and Bahama’s Turtle Cay children’s program to name a few. Please help the children to be just as successful this year with their Sunday School Walk for Missions as previous years.

This year we have started an ongoing children’s mission to collect children’s clothing to be donated to the Asbury Park Clothes Closet for children in need. If your child or grandchildren have outgrown clothes they would like to donate, please drop them off at the Sunday school office or church office marked “Asbury Park Clothes Closet” and we will get them delivered.

Please reach out to our students by sponsoring a child (or two) and help them to make their mission a success! Please look for the Mission Walk table between services in the Narthex and outside the gym for sponsorships. God bless you for helping God’s children feel as if they are part of our church family in contributing towards their outreach mission goals.

THANK YOU

National Day of Prayer Event 2023

Dear St Paul’s:

What a joy to worship with our brothers and sisters at Living Faith Bible Church on National Day of Prayer.
We had a great time of worship and prayer focusing on the following concerns: church, family, education, military, workplace, government, arts and culture. Pray for these areas year round!

We hope to join together for more worship and prayer opportunities throughout the year.

Peace in Christ,
Pastor Evan

Mustard Seed Preschool – April 25, 2024

Dear St. Paul’s,

I was absolutely blown away at the generous giving that took place in March when the church launched a Vanco account for The Mustard Seed Preschool. In this year of growth (and inflation) we rely heavily on donations like yours to push us through until the end of the year. With your generous donations, we are able to re-mulch the playground area to bring it up to compliance with licensing. Our next big expense is a new 6 foot wooden fence to replace the rotting one.

Thank you again for your support – it keeps me and the school going!

A Message from Pastor Evan – April 25, 2024

Rev Evan Dodge

Dear St. Paul’s family:

Toward the start of each year, our dedicated Staff/Parish Relations team and I work together on setting goals for our shared ministry. This allows for clarity and collaboration as we seek to introduce people to a deep relationship with Jesus Christ. To that end, I want to share with you a few things we will be working on in 2024 (and maybe beyond!).

First, we will be looking at worship opportunities for our community. We celebrate and look forward to how God will continue to bless our midweek worship. We will continue to grow our online presence and explore new worship endeavors. Individual and family schedules and priorities have changed so much over the last few decades, making it imperative for churches to be flexible and creative in reaching people with the good news.

Secondly, we will seek to nurture shared worship and ministry opportunities with area churches. I celebrate our developing relationship with Living Faith Bible Church and hope to partner with other area churches for future endeavors, both in worship and in outreach.

Thirdly, it is our desire to see more opportunities for spiritual formation and Bible study. One sign of a healthy church is people growing deep in their faith and sharing together in small groups. This is vital for us as believers and as a church as we move forward.

As we make progress, we will communicate and celebrate it together. Ultimately, all of this is understood in the context of stewardship – being good caretakers of the numerous resources with which God has entrusted us. When we commit our time, talent, and treasure to furthering the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are being obedient to God’s call on our lives as individuals and as a community of faith. I call on you to pray for me, our church, and to commit yourself this year and beyond to being a generous disciple of Jesus Christ.

Peace in Christ,
Pastor Evan
